The Boeing Company (BCA), has an opening for an Experienced EE (Electrical Engineering) Technical Designer in North Charleston, SC.

The Boeing South Carolina (BSC) Engineering Design Center has an exciting opportunity for a EE Technical Designer.  The designer will be an integral member of the Engineering Design Center, providing engineering solutions to a wide-ranging list of programs, projects and components across the Enterprise.  We are a team of fast-paced, eager engineering and bold innovators willing to push boundaries.  Join us and be part of the team that will change the future of aerospace.

Position Overview:

Maintains releases and assists in developing electrical/mechanical drawings, system designs or engineering documentation and data, by applying Company, industry and governmental standards. Using design tools, prepares documentation and incorporates basic design changes. Creates, develops and maintains elementary system designs. Supports engineering system design and functionality validation activities. Supports the development and maintenance of moderately-complex product installation designs and part designs. Supports coordination with internal partners and external suppliers. Works under general supervision.

Positions Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs. Analyzes results and performs design reviews.

  • Develops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., cable routing and geometry, WHIDs, IRMs).

  • Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, and shop revision requests).

  • Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.

  • Develops basic statements of work.

  • Analyzes functional and physical input to assure development of complete integrated design.

  • Works under general direction.

Work Authorization:

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in Electrical design; including but not limited to Electrical Systems design, Wire Design, Electrical Equipment Installation and Wire Installation Design.

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Applications

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • Experience with Engineering tools such as ENOVIA, CATIA, PDM is desired

  • Ability to quickly adapt to program tools and procedures

  • Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years related work experience, 5 years related work experience, etc.).

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range:

Experienced (Level 3): $63,750 - $86,250
