Pratt & Whitney (P&W) F135 Fleet Operations has a rare opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented, self- starter with strong communication skills – both oral and written – to represent the P&W Team at Nellis AFB, Las Vegas NV as a Field Service Engineer (FSE) onsite. This role is required onsite at Nellis AFB, Las Vegas NV.

What You Will Do:

  • Support F-35A/F135 operations to include, systems, tooling, material, and offboard system processes. The FSE will have hands-on interaction with the engine (software and hardware), aircraft, and squadron personnel.
  • Ensure comprehensive reporting on support activities including aircraft and engine status, flight reports, operational data, engine configuration status and parts consumption.
  • Work closely with internal P&W teams (Customer Support Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Center, Autonomous Logistics Information System (ALIS)),to assist unit-level customers in troubleshooting and resolving emerging issues while maintaining flexibility to adapt to constantly changing customer priorities.
  • Use self-initiative and judgment to identify problems, conduct investigations to determine root cause, and coordinate solutions between P&W, the Joint Strike Fighter Program Office, and Lockheed Martin. Youll also be tasked with coordinating field issues with the P&W Site Manager, Engineering, and Logistics Program Management.
  • Comply with Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S) requirements and participating in Customer-Oriented Results & Excellence (CORE) initiatives.
  • Ability to travel for extended periods of time (roughly 3 months) to support customer deployments. Domestic and international travel are possible and part of the team concept.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field (Non-technical degrees will be considered if candidate has appropriate related experience) AND 8+ years of professional experience in engine/aircraft maintenance, logistics, and logistics support is required; OR an Advanced Degree and 5+ years of the aforementioned experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Candidates that have had a clearance that has recently lapsed (not more than 2 years), may also apply for consideration.
  • Must have the ability to rotate first and second shift schedules as required to meet customer support and team objectives. This role starts as 1st shift.
  • Travel could be required for customer support (up to 3 months) or extended periods.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • 3+ years’ experience with the F135 engine
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Background in ITAR/ITC is desired.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
