Task Description:

As a Software Solutions Engineer for Airborne applications, you are responsible for the design and development of the network layer of the FCAS Comms Services Work Package.

Your range of tasks will cover the support to the entire design process of the communication system, from PoC definition and implementation to System requirements and Architecture definition.

Your activities will be performed in close cooperation with the FCAS Combat Cloud AGILE teams. The holder of this position will be located at Ottobrunn and reports to the project Work Package lead.

Your tasks:

• Consult with Management, assess customer requirements, study project needs to support the definition of objectives and standards.
• Support the preparation of Development, Integration and Validation environment for network communications demonstrator.
• Perform Software Development, Integration and Validation tasks, conduct analysis on Software non-conformances, discrepancies and waivers
• Coordinate with appropriate teams regarding the scheduling and implementation of validation testing.
• Support of the quality management process.

Skills required

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Aerospace or other related Engineering
• Operational experience with ISO/OSI Stack, with focus on Airborne applications
• Experience in the field of NFV, SDN, SD-WAN, Segment Routing
• Experience with Network Architecture
• Experience with System Design in Airborne applications
• Experience in AGILE Development Lifecycle (Kanban, SCRUM)
• Experience with modern CI/CD DevOps strategies is a plus.
• Operational Knowledge of systems modelling tools (e.g. CAMEO, Enterprise Architect or DOORS) is a plus.
• Ability to operate and efficiently communicate in a multi-national team organisation
• Language skills: English fluent, German language skills are advantageous
