Arconic is currently in search of a Fabrication Process Engineer to join our BCS Team in Springdale, Arkansas.

The Extrusion Process Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining the efficient process of aluminum extrusion. The position encompasses several areas of Engineering disciplines, not limited to Safety, Process, Reliability, Quality and Project Engineering for their respective department. The Engineer will also be responsible Capital Execution which includes developing project cost estimates, providing project justification, contract / vendor management, and project cost accounting. The Engineer will also be a Single Point Accountable person for at least 1 Safety Protocol.
Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day technical advice, problem solving and support to operations and maintenance by applying engineering principles, tools and skills to solve problems to root cause;
- Ensuring immediate equipment functionality and supporting the implementation of long term improvement strategies;
- Reviewing or participating in existing equipment modifications or new equipment installations (capex) and ensuring compliance with appropriate engineering standards;
- Developing and implementing engineering solutions to eliminate repetitive equipment failures;
- Facilitating the improvement of equipment reliability through reducing failures and turnaround times for planned and unplanned events;
- Leading/Facilitating risk assessment and value analysis to make accurate engineering decisions for repair/replace/redesign;
- Identifying and/or implementing new ideas and cost reduction opportunities;
- Managing contractor activities to support the implementation of critical equipment repairs or modifications;
- Conveying technical ideas and concepts to support plant objectives and goals;
- Creating, maintaining, and updating equipment files, programs and drawings;
- Overseeing key processes involving miscellaneous aluminum fabrication equipment, including 5 axis CNC machines
- Collaborate with CNC programmers to find effective solutions to fabrication problems
Basic Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and perform the tasks as listed above
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution
- 5 years’ experience with Aluminum Extrusion
- Experience with AutoCad and / or SolidWorks;
- Experience with Microsoft Office365;
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working in a team-based culture
