Field Service Engineer I- DCS

Position Overview:

Honeywells FSE I are responsible for effectively providing services to support the on-site installation, start-up, maintenance, and operation of automation control systems & advanced manufacturing software applications, drive systems, manufacturing systems, industrial networks and the individual products which comprise these systems.

Your Focus:

You will focus on providing customers with maintenance and modernization services on Honeywells DCS Platforms. The role requires you to be self-supporting and includes on-site maintenance, performing system diagnostics & analysis, troubleshooting problems, installing new systems & replacing parts.

18-month Honeywell Training & Certification Program:

• Commitment of 18 months to obtain and maintain L3 CEAT certification while performing normal job
duties.

Compensation

• FSE I pay includes hourly pay + Overtime (1.5 x hourly rate) *Sales Lead can be earned.

Work & Travel Schedule:

• Typical work week is Monday - Friday (8 am - 5 pm) with ability to work overtime when needed.

• Be available for off hour "Emergency On-Call" as needed.

• Depending on the service requirements for a particular customer or region, this position may require

significant travel as well as overnight travel (Understand the needs with the Hiring Manager)

Company Vehicle / Travel Expenses:

• Company vehicle is provided - Must have valid drivers license.

• Corporate Travel card will be offered to pay for expenses

Ideal Candidate:

• Commitment of 18 month to Honeywell Training & Certification Program while performing normal job duties.

• 1+ year prior field service experience in supporting technical or engineering services or Military

experience in electronics programs may be considered equivalent to this typical qualification

• Basic understanding of networking and electrical theory

• 1+ years of experience using Basic Windows and Microsoft Office applications

• Experience working with Operator HMI (Panels & Touchscreens)

• Strong written and verbal communication skills must be able to clearly articulate messages both technical and non-technical.

• Ability to be self-motivated and willingness to work in demanding environments with little or no

supervision and take initiative to be proactive.

• Ability to diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems and perform preventive maintenance using electrical test equipment

• Experience or knowledge reading electrical drawings and utilize for troubleshooting electrical systems

As an FSE I, you will:

• Maintain Honeywells suite of (DCS) quality control hardware and software and handle customer

questions about the state of the system.

• Sustain proficiency in all products and services that the company offers. This includes staying current with installation standard methodologies, equipment protocol, and safety guidelines.

• Provide on-site pre-start-up, start-up, contracted service work, warranty, troubleshooting, and training of Honeywell products, and ensure equipment is operational and free of defects.

• Accurately document the work that is performed at a customer facility and/or project staging area.

Professionally document work completed on periodic preventive maintenance as well as intermittent corrective maintenance tasks

• Handle customer service-related issues while fostering the customer relationship and working to solve

technical problems on site.

• Deal directly with and communicate effectively with plant operators, plant management, 3rd party

vendors and other Honeywell personnel in support of service operations

• Troubleshoot and repair equipment applying own technical knowledge and experience to resolve

problems.

• Accurately document the work that is performed at a customer facility and/or project staging area.

Professionally document work completed on periodic preventive maintenance as well as intermittent corrective maintenance tasks

• Review product prints and specifications.

• When required, play an active role in various projects such as upgrades, new installations, or new functionality for customers

• Work with contractors to review and ensure the unit/package is installed to specifications.

• Coordinate work with other groups to ensure meeting commitments

As an FSE I, you will:

YOU MUST HAVE

• High School Diploma 
• 1 year of professional experience in an engineering or technical field/and or Military experience in 
electronics programs may be considered equivalent to this typical qualification.
• Valid drivers license
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to walk and stand 8 hours per day.
• 1 year of experience using Basic Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications
• Be able to perform frequent climbing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.

*Engineering or technical fields may include field service, technical operations, industrial maintenance, process automation, heavy manufacturing, prior military experience, development and/or reliability engineering, etc.
