Description:Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to lead development of advanced geospatial processing systems. As part of Lockheed Martin’s Geospatial Technology team, the successful candidate will lead a team in designing, prototyping, developing, delivering, and supporting software systems that solve our customers’ toughest challenges. The position can be full-time remote with location preferences in North Carolina, Colorado or Northern Virginia.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead an Agile software team to design, prototype, implement and deliver software solutions

Build a software engineering team to develop new geospatial products

Work with product owners to develop technical product roadmap

Implement a unit test plan to validate completed features

Document software design and use
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in related field w/8+ years of professional development experience, 3+ years lead developer experience

Experience working with geospatial data including imagery, elevation and LiDAR data

C++/Python programming experience

OpenCL/CUDA/OpenCV experience

Linux HPC experience
Desired Skills:
Aerial and Space-based 3D point cloud processing

JavaScript, MATLAB, Restful API, API development

Experience with AI/ML solutions

Amazon Web Services (AWS), cloud architectures, Microsoft HPC

Experience with geospatial tools (GlobalMapper, ArcGIS,
GDAL, etc.)

Takes ownership of results

Ability to lead a team

Eager to dig into new topics

Ability to turn research into working solutions

Excellent communication skills with customers and internal stakeholders

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $120,700 - $227,400. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $105,000 - $201,100 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
