We are seeking a talented Guidance, Navigation & Tracking Engineer to support the continued enhancement of the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) interceptor missile and ground system. The PAC-3 family of missiles are the only combat proven Hit-to-Kill interceptors that defend against incoming threats, including tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and aircraft through direct body-to-body contact delivering exponentially more kinetic energy on the target than can be achieved with blast-fragmentation kill mechanisms. This role will require onsite support full-time at Lockheed Martin’s Missiles and Fire Control headquarters in Grand Prairie, TX working a 4/10 Flex schedule. This position requires a current DoD Secret clearance, therefore, U.S. citizenship is required.

What You’ll Do:
• Support the integration, test, verification and validation of the system and various subsystems, including ground system fire control algorithms, guidance, navigation and autopilot algorithms and actual Operational Flight Program code with C++ and FORTRAN models of weapons, sensors, ground systems and environments through the 6-Degree of Freedom (6-DOF) Integrated Flight Simulations (IFS), Hardware In-the-Loop (HWIL) Lab and actual flight tests
• Participate in flight test prediction and data performance analysis for multiple flights
• Work with a team to develop robust algorithm for ground system fire control to improve system performance
• Support system performance assessments and trade studies
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
• 0 to 2 years of experience
• Proficient in C++ and/or FORTRAN
• Experience with MATLAB
Desired Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Willingness to work onsite in a classified lab environment
• Current security clearance
• Experience with FORTRAN, Ada and/or Python
• Experience with GitLab
• Prior experience with Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3)/IAMD modeling, especially ground system and M903 launcher
• Experience integrating and testing hardware and software in Hardware In-the-Loop (HWIL)
• Prior experience supporting flight tests
• Familiarity with some, or all, of the following: linear algebra, probability and statistics, state dynamic equations, Kalman filter applications, kinematics and rotating coordinate systems
• Ability to occasionally travel for up to two weeks at a time to White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico to support flight tests

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
