Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking an emerging Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer to support one if the worlds most advanced missile programs.

Seeking an early career engineer who is interested in developing algorithms for advanced EO-IR sensors for the ATWS program area. Tasks may consist of performing image and signal processing analysis on flight data, developing advanced image and signal processing algorithms for an advanced EO- IR sensor system, or developing advanced discriminations algorithms leveraging machine learning techniques along with analyzing and characterizing algorithm performance of a multi-function EO/IR system using flight test data collected in a relevant environment. Candidate must be able to conduct detailed analyses and trade studies to identify performance enhancements and conduct fault isolation of any performance issues. This includes collaborating with subject matter experts within Lockheed Martin to ensure a robust design and sound methodology for algorithm upgrades. Experience using/developing MATLAB and C/C++ code is required.
Candidate will be required to work in a cross-functional team environment. Performing tasks and assignments emphasizing development of technical and leadership and interpersonal skills in a structured framework within the engineering disciplines, such as mechanical, electrical, software, and systems. Must have good communication skills, work in a team environment and can solve cross-functional technical problems. Candidate must be able to identify risk mitigation plans, and present at customer/management reviews.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors in STEM field with coursework, research, or work experience related to Guidance, Navigation, and Control topics
- 0 to 2 years of experience
- US Citizen
- Active Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
- Must have good communication skills, be able to effectively work in a team environment, capable of solving complex problems, and be able to focus on the complete product and the full life cycle of the product.
- Strong background in mathematics and proficiency in MATLAB or related simulation tools is preferred. Proficiency in programming languages such as C and C++
- Course work or related experience in electro-optics, system analysis, modeling, simulation, and/or software development
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
