Description:Calling all College Students! Come join Lockheed Martin, Missiles Fire and Control in Ocala, Florida for a Summer Industrial Engineer Internship.

The Ocala Operations is a multi-shift manufacturing facility that builds circuit cards, wiring harnesses, and electro-mechanical assemblies. The facility currently has over 1400 employees and provides products to six Missiles and Fire Control sites. Ocala specializes in both low volume high mix and high volume production that has a combination of automated processes as well as labor intensive manufacturing. Ocala Operations has a represented manufacturing workforce that is supported by a strong engineering and operations support team.

Candidate must be pursuing a 4 year engineering degree from an accredited college or university.

Provide technical guidance and support to
manufacturing operators to facilitate
assembly performance.

Apply lean manufacturing techniques to reduce cost
and increase yields.

Investigate root cause of failures/defects
and implement corrective action to support
continuous improvement.

Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles, Work
Measurements and Time Standards,
Productivity and Performance management, Capacity Analysis, Simulation Modeling, Cost Analysis and Estimating.

This position will be located at a facility that requires special access and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.
Basic Qualifications:
• Candidate must be pursuing an industrial engineering bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Understanding of Industrial Engineering Concepts: Work Measurement, Process Optimization, and Facility Layout.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills.
• Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles and application to eliminate waste.
• This position will be located at a facility that requires special access and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.
Desired Skills:
• Basic proficiency in engineering software tools commonly used such as AutoCAD or Solid Works and Simulation Software (such as Flex Sim, Simio, Process Sim or others).
• Lean Six Sigma Operational Excellence or Continuous Improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
