Summary

The Instructional System Designer/Courseware Developer will be responsible for integrating data into a learning management system for resource management, student training, support materials, and academic records. The position is responsible for maintaining the common operating picture of the training center in 5 integrated capability areas: Training Development, Training Management, Scheduling, Courseware Management, and Training Resource Management. Additionally, this position is responsible for technical support of the TSSC including, Student and Instructor help desk assistance, daily classroom preparation / functionality checks, and iPad management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviews instructional system design (ISD) documents, syllabus, lesson plans, student handouts, instructor guides (IG), student guides (SG), and other training curriculum materials using database, word processing and computer aided instruction (CAI) development tools; in accordance with the approved style guide and customer guidelines.
  • Perform basic SQL functions (reports) within the training management system database
  • Provide on-site IT Help Desk support for TSSC staff (desktop/laptop, application, IPad, etc.)
  • Perform limited active directory functions (password resets, software updates / installation) for the TSSC, Students, Instructors, and staff regarding classrooms, IPads, or user permission levels throughout the Center
  • Provide Liaison duties for contractors, customers, and the parent company regarding networks, connectivity, software updates, etc.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Requires 5 to 8 yearsu2019 experience with BS/BA or 2 to 4 years with MS/MA/Military experience
  • Experience working in a Learning Management System (LMS) (e.g. Fox, Captivate, Blackboard)
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, Storyline 360, and Power BI
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
  • Basic understanding of relational databases (e.g. Microsoft SQL)
  • Basic programming knowledge involving Java Script, HTML, and HTML 5, and Power BI
  • Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills
  • Able to work with minimal supervision

Desired Skills

  • Military Aviation background and training experience (e.g. Captains Career Course, Warrant Officer Advanced Course, Senior Leaders Course)
  • Experience with training management systems
  • Familiarity with GTIMS, ARTS, and DTMS
