Jr. Engineer, IPT - Electrical & Avionics Systems  (Full Time)

POSITION SUMMARY:

This entry-level position is a technical role within the product development Integrated Product Team (IPT) to research, design, develop, analyze, and test a variety of electrical and avionics systems for production and experimental aircraft. This position will involve Computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling and drafting practices for drawing creation and maintenance, creation of wiring diagrams, harness assembly drawings, component installation drawings, electrical systems analysis. This position will also involve the creation of test plans and test reports, and general shop-floor and experimental hangar coordination for electrical and avionics systems installations and functionality.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

         Become familiar with standard industry electrical hardware and harness fabrication processes

         Create and revise system schematics, wiring diagrams, and component installation drawings in accordance with Engineering policies and procedures and Company drafting standards

         Support the preparation of electrical and avionics design documents, test plans and test reports

         Review data and support the process of selecting vendors for the purchase of electrical and avionics components that meet specifications and design intent

         Support production and/or experimental hangar personnel in the troubleshooting of electrical and avionics system functionality problems

         Support the set up and execution of lab, ground, and flight tests pertaining to the Electrical and Avionics function

         Create and Revise System Description and Requirements Documents

         Support the IPT in the preparation of material for presentation at design and program reviews

         Perform other related duties as required

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

         This position will not have any direct supervisory responsibilities

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

         Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

         College-project in related fields or prior aerospace industry experience with electrical system integration, power generation, and/or avionics

         Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint

 

Preferred:

         Working knowledge of 2D / 3D CAD for Schematic Design, Mentor Graphics Capital Harness and modeling and design practices using Siemens NX with engineering configuration management using Teamcenter

         An understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 23

         Ability to be able to move in and out of the office/plant without restrictions during on-airplane troubleshooting activities
