The Southern California Global Design Center Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently seeking Lead Multi-Skilled Project Engineers (Level 4) as Project Technical Leads (PTLs), to become part of the Commercial Modifications Program Engineering IPT in Long Beach, California.

We are looking for experienced, engaged and motivated engineers to join a team of highly skilled Project Engineers supporting the different product lines (Connectivity, Avionics and AP&S), working on complex work statements under the guidance of Subject Matter Experts.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides the Engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers

  • Develops integrated project plans, project schedule and statement of work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirements

  • Works with customers and management to obtain approval

  • Responds to changes to SOW, assesses the impact and negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules

  • Leads project execution to complete the work statement

  • Identifies and reports project technical performance metrics

  • Plans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program

  • Defines plans for risk mitigation and opportunity

  • Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned

  • Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans

  • Works under minimal direction. Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within the team for knowledge transfer and share lessons learned

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite in Long Beach, CA. This is the hiring teams discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.​

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 3+ years’ experience in leading teams or projects

  • 3+ years’ experience supporting cross functional teams

 Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years experience as a Technical Lead or Senior Technical Lead on Aerospace Design Vehicles

  • Experience providing briefings to senior and/ or executive level management

  • Experience working with Suppliers

  • Experience working with organizational leaders to develop & implement plans & objectives to meet requirements and create reports for management reviews & track performance to plan

  • Ability to travel domestic & international up to 10 of the time depending on basic needs

  • Experience working on Production Quality or Supplier Quality related projects / initiatives

  • Manufacturing experience on Aerospace Design Vehicles

  • Previous experience working in the aircraft modification environment

  • Experience with Boeing Global Services Programs

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years related work experience, Master+7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Summary Pay Range: $122,400 - $165,600
