Job Description SummaryReporting directly to the Cheltenham Aerospace Quality Manager, this role will have primary accountability for the GE Cheltenham’s Site Quality Management System, and the associated oversight necessary to meet the requirements of GE Cheltenhams regulatory and continued airworthiness supply chain approvals. The successful candidate will:

Partner with the Cheltenham Aerospace Quality Manager working within the Quality Strategy & Improvements function and will lead and facilitate key system support activities.

They will be an integral part of the Quality Leadership Team and have influence and responsibilities for Cell based activities to ensure system compliance and its correlation into the QMS by means of training, audit and GEMBA.

They will lead a small team of Quality professionals, and coordinate shop personnel covering all areas of Quality, including, but not limited to regulatory compliance, internal and external auditing, Production oversight and support, internal Quality corrective action through structured RCCA on the shop.

Responsibilities:

  • Driving product, process, and compliance improvement through the Production and Aftermarket Quality cell-based Teams
  • Ownership of all relevant regulatory oversight audits and interactions with relevant bodies and the effective delivery thereof within the cell
  • Collaborate in the strategy development for Quality reporting of metrics and regulatory performance monthly.
  • Collaborate proactively with internal and external peers, colleagues, and stakeholders to establish strong functional partnerships.
  • Proactively carry out all People Leader responsibilities for the team, including managing performance and development against both technical and behavioral requirements
  • Continuous process improvement within areas of responsibility
  • Assist the Safety Manager in delivering Safety Management System to meet regulatory requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • In-depth working knowledge of AS9100/9110,
  • In-depth working knowledge of UK CAA & EASA Regulations
  • Understand the responsibilities and requirements of a Form 4 Holder
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve problems.
  • Strong Coaching and mentoring skills
  • Lead Auditor or significant current aerospace audit experience
  • Confidence to work with multi-level persons in the organisation whilst maintaining a professional attitude and recognising confidentiality requirements for the business and the individual.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and to work to timescales, achieve personal deadlines and contribute to team objectives.
  • Ability to energise teams and create an engaging work environment, promoting inclusiveness.
  • Ability to consider the external impact of business activities and decisions on customers, market/industry, investors, media, government, and communities including Safety Management Systems and Human Factors
  • Competent IT skills, including interaction with operational business management systems, alongside Microsoft Office applications.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in Production/Maintenance Quality and/or Quality Assurance
  • Experience of Oracle, Proficy and TipQA IT systems
  • Degree or HNC/HND Qualified in an Aerospace related subject or equivalent experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasive leadership skills.
