Boeing Global Services (BGS) has an exciting opportunity for a talented and highly motivated project engineer to join The Air Force Fighter & Strike Sustainment Engineering team in St. Louis, MO as the Lead Sustainment Engineer for the F-15EX program.  This Lead Engineer will be responsible for a dynamic team of  project, integration, and systems engineers responsible for the fielding & sustainment of US Air Force (USAF) F-15 EX aircraft. This position will serve as the primary technical interface on the EX program for BGS Engineering, representing the Air Force Fighter & Strike Sustainment Chief Engineer in day to day activities, empowered to take action, and operating with delegated authority to make critical decisions. This position will have direct technical interface with BDS counterparts, Program Management, and US Air Force.

This challenging position is critical to the sustainment of the USAF F-15 EX program. This program is just ramping up with flight test underway and production starting to hit stride. This is a great opportunity to obtain a critical role on an incredible program that is modernizing the historic F-15 into a modern war-fighting machine.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering team and provide technical oversight of work products, including SOW and proposal development, change incorporation, and obsolescence

  • Support USAF aircraft sustainment for the F-15EX as the primary technical interface for BGS engineering to Program Management, BDS, and the customer

  • In-service engineering support of fielded domestic F-15 fighter aircraft, including disposition of non-conformances, determining alternate parts, repair concepts, and support of obsolescence/diminishing manufacturing sources

  • Research, author, coordinate, approve, and release of Eagle Advisory Memos (EAMs)

  • Change document and Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) development in support of fleet issue corrections, repairs, and product improvement redesigns

  • Coordinate retrofit plans, schedules, and upgrade requirements with multiple Boeing Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) such as design, strength, fatigue, hydraulics, flutter, and retrofit

  • Provide responses to Field Service technical requests and problem reports

  • Ensure the technical correctness of offered solutions

  • Research and develop new repairs and configurations with a focus on innovation and creating value for our customers

  • Timely root cause corrective action (RCCA) to ensure future part procurements yield first time quality

  • CAM for team Cost Accounts

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally (engineering, program management, modification team, and/or finance) and across multiple business units (BDS, BGS, Field Operations, etc.)

  • Experience developing specifications, statements of work, and proposal estimates

  • 3+ years of experience working with internal and external customers

  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with technical oversight of suppliers

  • BDS EVM Silver Medallion

  • Experience with legacy or new production F-15 aircraft

  • 5+ years of experience with sustainment of military platform

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years related work experience, Master+7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range: $114,750 – $155,250
