To be the Lead Technical Publication Engineer with Boeing Global Services Derivative Aircraft Team in Tukwila, WA it will require a strong technical background and leadership skills.  This role involves leading a team in the creation, maintenance, and growth of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) and linear electronic manuals for the KC-46 aircraft.  Key responsibilities include collaborating with customers, supply chain partners, and the Boeing enterprise to deliver comprehensive and integrated solutions. This role also involves supporting customers and contributing to global operational success.  The ideal candidate should be self-starting, customer-focused, and mission-oriented.  They should have the ability to interpret customer needs, develop solutions, and overcome obstacles in a dynamic environment.

This is a Union-represented position.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads team to analyzes detailed engineering information and data (e.g., engineering drawings, specifications, change requests, vendor data) to design, develop, and/or maintain operational and maintenance documents for delivery to customers to ensure safe and efficient aircraft operations.

  • Leads the team to integrate complex engineering information and customer information into complete and approved operational data packages for maintenance and flight crews (e.g., maintainers, pilots, aerial refueling operators, mission specialists, etc.).

  • Leads team to capture and analyze customer feedback and drive continuous process improvement.

  • Acts as liaison with engineering teams to proactively resolve design, operations, and sustainment topics

  • Advises on topics related to engineering design changes and operational and logistical changes to enhance safety, improve quality, improve efficiency, and reduce cost of operation.

  • Travel to customers locations, both internationally and domestic, to support technical interchange meetings and project work group meetings.

  • Leads the certification and airworthiness activities for the technical publications team.

This position is hybrid.  This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the Tukwila location.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry AND 9 or more years’ of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (Ex 1:  PhD, Masters &43; 4 years’ or more related work experience. Ex. 2: Masters &43; 7 years’ or more related work experience)

  • 3&43; years of experience with analyzing and interpreting engineering data for inclusion into maintenance manuals and technical publications

  • 3&43; years experience with customer service role

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • Private or commercial pilot license (current or prior holder)

  • 5&43; years’ experience with production, maintenance planning, and/or testing of commercial or military aircraft sub-systems and components including flight controls, landing gear, fuels, fire detection, propulsion (engine and APU), environmental controls, and avionics

  • Experience in FAA certification or airworthiness

  • 1&43; years experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Configuration Management systems, Change Management, and PLM Processes and Tools

  • 1&43; years’ experience working with aviation customer operations

  • 1&43; years’ experience with technical publications’ publishing value streams (i.e. eMOD, Toolbox, My Boeing Fleet or similar program)

  • 1&43; years experience developing estimates and schedules for new business proposals

  • 3&43; years of experience demonstrating leadership skills (informal or formal)

  • 3&43; years experience working with ATA100, ATA iSpec2200, ASD-STE100, and ASD S1000D specifications

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD&43;4 years related work experience, Master&43;7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations

Summary pay range: $115,600 - 156,400
