Job Description SummaryAt Avio Aero, a GE Aviation company, we’ve been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation. 

The Lean Six Sigma Engineer, as a member of the Continuous Improvement team, will focus on expanding problem-solving methodologies within Daily Shop Management. Their role includes ensuring the implementation of improvement activities identified through kaizen events or Value Stream Mapping activities.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Promote and support Problem Solving within Daily Shop Management framework

  • Update Production Cells Boards and monitoring of related standard work

  • Support activities of Lean Manufacturing on Value Stream Mapping in order to identify opportunities and lead Kaizen Events in order to turn these opportunities into reality

  • Support specific Kaizen as 5S, Re-layout, Levelling, Process Improvements, Simplifications, Waterspider System Implementation, Visual Management, Cell Design

  • Serve as a change agent by stimulating, communicating and institutionalizing Lean Six Sigma initiatives

  • Support colleagues on Lean Six Sigma methodology and its application

  • Share and institutionalize best practices across Cross Production Cells

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Masters degree in Mechanic and/or Aerospace and/or Management Engineering or equivalent

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma Methodology

  • Fluent in Italian and English

  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

  • Knowledge of Lean Basics and experience in its application in a manufacturing reality

  • Change agent with resilience and persistence skills (Shop floor Oriented)

  • Established analytical and quantitative ability (Data Mining & Data Crunching)

  • Proved Training on Lean Concept

  • Six Sigma Green certification

  • Demonstrated commitment for process improvement

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Good interpersonal, Influencing and leadership skills

  • Customer-focused in defining quality and establishing priorities

  • Able to make executive presentations

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Curiosity about the Lean Development Worldwide

  • Knowledge of SAP, Minitab, eVSM
