Description:C4ISR is looking for a proven and experienced technical leader to serve as the MDS Deputy Chief Engineer and the C2BMC Deputy Chief Engineer.
As the Deputy Chief Engineer, the selected individual will support the MDS Chief Engineer, C2BMC Chief Engineer, and Integrated Engineering organization to ensure that technical integrity is maintained, the right engineering rigor and discipline is applied on programs, proposal are executable, Research & Development (R&D) is germane to the sub-market segment (and beyond), and programs are executed within the technical, cost, and schedule baselines.
The Deputy Chief Engineer responsibilities to include:
• Supports the Chief Engineer in driving the tactical day-to-day engineering execution and performance to ensure that program technical, cost, and schedule requirements are met. This includes making sure the customer technical requirements, overall E&T cost, and schedule commitments are met (Technical Baseline, EV, and IMS)
• Acts as MDS Chief Engineering delegate to the C4ISR Market Segment
• Coordinates and Maintains Weekly Items of Interest from MDS programs and flows them up to the Market Segment
• Acts as MDS Chief Engineering delegate, in collaboration with MDS Senior Engineering Managers, to Lockheed’s 1LMX Transformation Initiative.
• Works closely with the Chief Engineer and Functional stakeholders to ensure the technical integrity of the engineering processes and products
• Ensures that the program team follows all established engineering processes across the entire engineering lifecycle (requirements, architecture, design, implementation , I&T, CM, and sustainment) in compliance with RMS policies, processes, and procedures, and contract requirements.
• Track Estimate-to-Complete (ETC) and appropriate Earned Value Management (EVM) / Metrics to track program performance and proactively identify and resolve performance challenges
• Supports the Chief Engineer for the identification and closure of technical issues.

Basic Qualifications:
• Active Top Secret Clearance
• Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Domain Experience
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in systems engineering/architecture, allocation & derivation of requirements, design & development, Integration & Test with a thorough understanding of the entire engineering product life cycle.
• Prior experience as Chief Engineer or Engineering Leadership position with experience leading execution of development programs
• Demonstrated ability to provide clear guidance and direction to team and prioritizing competing requirements.
• Must have experience developing proposals, Basis of Estimates (BOEs), Statement of Works (SOWs), and Technical Specifications
• Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) to all levels in the corporation and proven ability to represent the organization on significant matters
• Prior experience leading definition of IRADs, development and execution of technology roadmaps
• Demonstrated leader who thinks strategically and proven success as a change agent driving positive changes through the organization
• Demonstrated experience successfully leading engineering teams and programs through effective use of metrics, process, and tools
• Demonstrated team player and proven success working cross-functionality and across the enterprise
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships
• Proven leader who motivates, inspires, and teaches others
Desired Skills:
• Active TS/SCI Clearance
• Previous Functional management experience

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $153,200 - $293,600 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
