We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell V-280 Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA), part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bells High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold tilt-rotor.
Manufacturing Innovation Team. Future Factory
This position will execute activities for designing digital machine processes and standards for advanced manufacturing equipment. You will work at Bell’s state of the art Manufacturing Technology Center with a diverse team of engineers.
You’ll work with both metallics and composite manufacturing processes executing the design and development of digital processes and resources. Objectives also include driving the advancement of enterprise knowledge and capability within the field of Systems Engineering, specifically machine process design. Overall goal: how to make the equipment better by breaking down planning and build processes to drive new strategies for improvement.
This work is on site at Bell’s Manufacturing Technology Center in Fort Worth, TX.
What you’ll be doing as a Machine Process Designer Engineer
· Creation and maturation of advanced operational technologies to support machine application laws for multi-axis equipment which includes design and development of a complete machine simulation capability.
· Development of sequencing logic for cutting tool technology, machine execution, and sub-system automation through the CAD/CAM system while integrating machine functions into software models to support machine application.
· Develop and implement policies, procedures and programs uniquely conceived to promote the Manufacturing Innovation mission and industrialization of new technologies.
· Execute complex technical assignments and projects, including the development of machine fabrication support through the CAD/CAM system for flight critical aerospace components and assemblies.
· Implement and monitor the effectiveness of process design activities that reduce and control variation to achieve the planned target levels for process design certification.
· Develop and chronicle detailed records of best practice and standards including data requirements and approach which includes machine & cutter stability through process design and analysis
· Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to machine process and part quality throughout the full manufacturing process lifecycle (CAD/CAM, Postprocessing, Machine Control, Metrology)
