Job Description

Overview:

Electronics engineering own Interiors Military, Safety Systems and Cargo systems products LRU design & development related activities, provide technical support, and proactively manage tasks to meet schedule goals. Also, actively participate in a team environment, working with cross functional design teams to develop new product and design modification in the existing products

Position: Manager Engineering -M4

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in complete product development to own the electrical design details of various aircraft cargo control systems and oxygen systems products.
  • Provides leadership and managerial direction to electronics development team to ensure business objectives are achieved.
  • Manages, develops, and motivates a cross-functional team of PCB design, components and test equipment engineers to develop products and solutions.
  • Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers and direct reports.
  • Performs project planning, develops and administers budget, schedules and performance standards for multiple projects
  • Manages project technical risks and develops mitigation plan.
  • Manages operations support projects and provides guidance to team on handling multiple priorities
  • Provides technical guidance to team on issues
  • Performs resource planning, analyses hiring requirements, metrics and trends to influence team strategy and performance.
  • Performs competency assessment and plans for competency development of team.
  • Responsible for conducting annual reviews, performance discussion and regular one on one with the team.
  • Improves employee experience, drive retention and DE&I
  • Drives process excellence and ensure compliance.
  • Leads departmental/organizational initiatives.
  • Explores and drives growth opportunities in portfolio.
  • Performing functional and Design verification testing
  • Ensures design for manufacturing, cost, quality, reliability and certification.
  • Performing detailed comparison of obsolete components and the new components selection and analyzing the circuitry impact.
  • Assesses electrical design to avoid conflicts in design process, including detailed Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and other methods of determining and addressing technical risks.
  • Understanding the PCB design process & the Assembly standards IPC-2222, IPC-2221 and IPC- A -610, IPC-J-STD-001
  • Ensures compliance with RTCA D0-160 regulatory specifications and customer requirements
  • Detailed Understanding on the DO-160 and DO -254 standards and the requirements.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12-15 years of relevant Industry experience in Motor control/Analog design/Digital design with at least 4 Years of experience in Project and People Management.
  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Electrical and Electronics/ECE or Instrumentation  

Primary Skills:

10+yrs in Control system, Analog, Digital Circuit design.

Experience in compliance with EMI/EMC design

Experience in debugging product test failures.

Experience in Aerospace Products and DO-160 requirements

Techniques and skills required to identify a root cause analysis of problems.

Experience on RRCA process

Experience on DO-254 Process.

Organization Level:

Manages moderately sized projects or processes.

Has advanced to expert knowledge of work area.

Problems faced are difficult and often complex.

Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to lower-level professionals.

Influences others regarding policies, practices and procedures.
