Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager Engineering 2 (Liaison/MRB) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is a 4/10 2nd shift position, and will be located in Palmdale, CA.
This position is for the Section Manager (SM) of Liaison Engineering for the PAICoE F-35 Program, reporting to the Vehicle Engineering (VE) Liaison Engineering Department Manager, Palmdale Aircraft Integration Center of Excellence. The SM will lead a growing team of 15-20 Liaison Engineers. SM will be responsible for the disposition of nonconforming metallic and composite parts and assemblies as well as subsystem nonconformance.
For functional tasking, approximately 20 of the SM’s time will be focused on recruiting, staffing, retaining talent, weekly team meetings, bi-weekly 1:1 meetings, and holding performance review discussions. Supporting the VE Liaison Engineering Department Manager on the NGAS Community of Practice is expected. SM is expected to be thoroughly versed, and preferably a Subject Matter Expert (SME), for the Liaison Engineering discipline. CATIA and MES experience is strongly preferred.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 8 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Masters degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 6 years of related professional/military experience
Experience with Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Experience in a technical leadership/management roles.
Experience with Teamcenter, CATIA V5 and/or NX-CAD.
Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Civil Engineering (Structures) with Design emphasis.
10+ years of engineering experience.
Expert knowledge of Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Knowledge of NGC best design practices and applicable processes.
Demonstrated affordability approaches in structural designs, including integration of platform build sequences and designing for manufacturing.
Minimum 5 years of aircraft/spacecraft design experience, including clean sheet airframe layout, detailed drawing releases, and supporting build.
Active, In-Scope DoD Secret clearance.
Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
Ability to obtain and maintain SSBI and/or Special Program Access.
Experience in staffing forecasting.
Full life cycle of an air/space vehicle design process.
Recent experience as structural design lead.
Team player and demonstrated exceptional collaboration.
Material Review Board (MRB) Authority.
Salary Range: $142,200 - $213,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
