Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for introducing technical improvement initiatives.
- ME candidate must be familiar with general shop safety practices, creating and updating shop travelers, work instructions, operation sheets, tool orders, BOM’s and change management documents.
- ME candidate should have previous experience with the following: Composite Manufacturing (Ply Cutting, Core Machining/Processing, Hand Layup, Filament Winding, Metal Bonding, Autoclave Curing), CNC machining, NDT inspection, CMM inspection, Assembly and Paint Processes, GD&T, RCCA & Lean Six-Sigma.
- Responsible for the implementation of tooling and or production planning, from original concept through to production. ME’s design these processes with a high degree of process capability utilizing the GKN standard Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) tool suite.
- ME’s deliver measurable, metrics driven results in line with Operational goals.
- Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers
- Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives and optimized flow
- Develop technical solutions to complex problems.
- Utilize root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce/eliminate non-conformances.
Requirred Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial)
- 1 plus years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering role
- aerospace experience
- Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with composite manufacture and assembly
- Demonstrated performance leading and facilitating cross functional teams
- Automation integration, programming or implementation of robotic systems for Aerospace applications
- GKN Experience
- Working knowledge of LEAN processes and practices
- Working knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000
- Demonstrated experience with AS-9145 Zero Defect Manufacturing, or equivalent automotive PPAP experience
