ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Encourage and maintain a safe work environment to include 6S activities.
• Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, and changeovers.
• Support site initiatives for Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and productivity improvements.
• Support and meet development and production schedules, driving productivity, and quality initiatives.
• Determine and support development of the proper manufacturing processes for heat treating of required components.
• Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes for improvement of product flow, cost, and First Time Yield (FTY).
• Introduce and implement SPC techniques and associated measurement and control systems.
• Promote customer satisfaction and develop positive customer relationships.
• Maintain and improve supplier vendor quality to include material reviews, audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
• Provide direction, leadership, and technical support for operations.
• Analyze technical drawings and data and offer configuration changes to enhance product manufacturability.
• Assist and develop training program initiatives.
• Root Cause investigation and analysis for development of corrective actions implementations to continuously improve processes while reducing defects.
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by manager.

Required Experience and knowledge:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or other equivalent engineering degrees from an accredited university required. Minimum of four to six years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Will consider recent college graduates with a Mechanical Engineering degree along with 0 – 2 years of experience to include a 6-month co-op / internship in a manufacturing environment. Aerospace experience is a definite plus
• Ability to create CNC programs for 4-axix lathes and 5-axis machine centers using MasterCam or NX manufacturing package.
• Strong knowledge of CNC Machining processes of high temperature nickel alloys utilized in aerospace engines.
• Working knowledge of SPC tools and techniques.
• Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Working knowledge of 3D CAD software using NX software.
• Working knowledge of Synchronous Manufacturing and Kaizen process improvement techniques such as process mapping etc.
• Ability to interpret drawings and customers’ specifications to create work instructions.
• Interact with vendors and supplies to find solutions to manufacturing issues.
• Ability to use ERP / MRP Systems.
• Ability to manage projects in a team environment.
• Ability to quickly resolve manufacturing issues to keep product flow through the facility i.e., sense of urgency.
• Display a positive “can do” attitude.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization. Ability to interact with hourly team members and to provide clear, concise instructions.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously or as a team member

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat climb, kneel, twist and work at heights on an intermittent basis for eight hours a day.
• Requires hand manipulation including simple grasping, power grasping, pushing and pulling of materials and fine manipulation.
• Must be able to reach and work above and below the shoulder level is frequently performed on a continuous basis. .
• Must be able to work with and around forklifts and hazardous machinery.
• Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment, including metatarsal shoes for eight hours a day.
• Visual acuity skill to detect any flaws in the parts being machined and / or inspected.
