Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie, TX. This position will support the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Evolutionary Development team. The team supports programs that are in the development phase where concepts are still being created, designs are evolving, trade studies are performed, advanced technologies are tested, and preparations are made ahead of production. The primary mission of this position is to ensure new designs are producible (Design for Manufacturing / Assembly) in a full rate manufacturing environment at a competitive cost (Design to Cost). The position will serve as a Manufacturing Engineering point of contact to the other functions. Frequent communication and collaboration with other disciplines including Design Engineering, Production Operations, Quality Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Finance, Production Planning and Control, Contracts, Master Planning, and Program Management are required. The position will evaluate designs and provide manufacturing feedback to lead to affordable and manufacturable designs while still meeting performance requirements. The ability to question design requirements that drive cost to ensure there is good technical justification is desired. Being able to build relationships and work in a collaborative environment with other disciplines and across multiple locations is essential. It can also involve working directly with our government customers, proposal estimating, manufacturing readiness assessments, creating manufacturing plans, make or buy analysis, presenting at various design and manufacturing reviews, travel to various manufacturing facilities including suppliers and other Lockheed sites and any other manufacturing or tooling related issues that may arise.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in an associated discipline (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
-Manufacturing Background
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Ability to liaison between LM Manufacturing Sites, LM Subcontractors, internal disciplines, and Line of Business Production Operations
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex
- Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.), Teams, SharePoint, etc.
- Ability to travel domestic and/or international
Desired Skills:
- Bachelors or higher degree in technical discipline (electrical engineering or mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, etc. with mechanical MFG shop experience)
- Experience in design for manufacturing / assembly or design to cost of mechanical and electro-mechanical designs
- Knowledge within the SAP MRP production control system
- Experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Demonstrated competency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
- Earned Value Management experience
- Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
- Experience working with Government customers
- Exposure to working with program management
- Proposal experience including labor estimates, material estimates and IMS creation
- Well versed in AS9100 and AS9145 standards

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
