An opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer for Composites Process has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid). 

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Drive implementation of 1st installation with required shop floor feedback loops.

- Create / update routings / BoM / SOI taken into account shop floor needs, Time calculation and Work Preparation Golden Rules in accordance with applicable processes.

- Specify industrial asset (Jigs, Tools, Tooling, Machines,…) requirements for creation or modification.

- Plan regular feedback loops with the Production Team.

- Manage key / recurrent work prep issues escalated by the Production Team / Tech shop floor support.

- Communicate directly and by a physical participation in Production Team routines.

- Support shop floor continuous improvement by providing work prep expertise when issues not managed at shop floor level by technical shop floor support.

- Support PPE in :

* evaluating industrial impacts of modifications;

* translating industrial requirements to design & supply chain.

- Accountable for Support configuration management.

- Run and support P-FMEA/FMEA.

- Depending on the division, provide technical expertise to the DPE.

- Role of ME within supply chain management guaranteeing full consistency and effectivity of data (eg: Missing part, stock, Material Requirement Planning impacts).

SKILLS

- A background in an aerospace engineering environment, preferably within the space sector

- Experience in Composites Manufacturing Technologies and/or processes: automatic (ATL/AFP) and/or manual (HLU)

- Procedures and process control.

- Able to work eventually offsite for specific periods of time at short notice.

- Work overtime and occasional shifts, as and when required.

- Soft Skills:

  • Team working skills.

  • Practical and proactive.

  • Process and Quality driven approach with high attention to detail.

  • High self-motivation and ability to deal with changing priorities on a multi project basis.

  • Good self-planning skills and process competence.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Nice to have:

  • A good understanding of spacecraft manufacture and assembly philosophies

  • Clean room or Space experience

  • Awareness of Health and Safety principles and their application to the specific environment

  • CATIA Design background and or equivalent 3D CADCAM supported tool.

  • MS Project and or equivalent activity planning tool

  • Airbus OES / AOS Manufacturing Excellence standards

  • APQP ME tool set: PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA
