What You Will Be Doing

• Develops planning and work instructions defining the sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for components and assemblies.
• Produces detailed work instructions defining production operations utilizing information from blueprints, specifications, engineering orders, change notices, and other engineering releases.
• Reads/interprets component and assembly blueprint geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and customer specifications for use in defining manufacturing methods and requirements.
• Determines the need for tooling and design and develops tooling for use in manufacturing.
• Creates engineering drawings defining tooling component and assembly geometry.
• Investigates manufacturing issues and defects to determine root causes, and defines and provides support for corrective actions, determines root causes, and defines methods for resolution.
• Identifies opportunities and develops methods for process improvement.
• Works closely with shop floor personnel to acquire feedback on manufacturing processes and tooling.
• Performs training of supervisors, other engineers and shop floor personnel in manufacturing processes.
• Develops item masters, BOM’s and routings.
• Develops and presents presentations to internal leadership and external customers regarding project scope and status.
• Develops capital improvement proposals for new equipment.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience with creating and defining work instructions for manufacturing processes.

Experience with reading/interpreting engineering blueprints, tool designs, and process specifications.

Currently attending or have bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, currently enrolled in an Engineering/Technical degree program, or equivalent experience/combined education.

Experience using MES/MRP Software, preferably Solumina.

Proficient in the use of basic Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Desired Skills:
Experience with manufacturing processes such as fabrication, machining, plating, painting and assembly of components.

Multiple CAD Software proficiency, preferably Solidworks, AutoCAD, Catia and Draftsight.

Additional applicable specialized technical training or currently enrolled in an Engineering/Technical degree program or completed Engineering degree.

Understanding of GD&T as applied to Engineering drawings with evidence of training or certification preferred.

Tooling Design experience.

Six Sigma Certification, preferably Green Belt.

Working knowledge of Lean and Flow Manufacturing concepts.

Experience with SOLUMINA, MTO, QADS, PIOS.

Demonstrated strong analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.

Project management abilities with experience in producing and providing project status reports.

Aerospace or Medical Industry Background.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks with minimal direction, and quickly shift priorities within a constantly changing work environment.

Proven capabilities to manage multiple tasks/projects within defined and compressed timeframes.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
