Lockheed Martin Corporations Rotary & Mission Systems (RMS) business is in search of an astute an entry-level Material and Process Engineering intern to join our team. This role offers an exciting gateway opportunity to experience what it is like to work for a top-tier employer known throughout the world for its engineering prowess and its game changing product offerings and robust solutions.

What Youll Do:

- Provide support to all Material and Process engineering activities inclusive of: Material characterization and process development, Participate in material research and/or qualification plans, Participate in non-conformance disposition and corrective action processes, Interfacing with suppliers regarding technical issues concerning raw composite materials, parts fabrication, and/or review of manufacturing plans

- Provide engineering support to all technical performance of the manufacturing and testing of the programs product

- Actively engage with all Technical Operations personnel and Operations Engineering Departments as well as the Advanced Manufacturing Technology representatives

- Interface with the Project Engineers for the program in providing all of the technical insight, production performance hours and material selections based on process assessments in forming the overall manufacturing plan
Basic Qualifications:
• Pursuing Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline. (Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, etc.)

• Interest in Manufacturing Work environment for Electronic assemblies, composite materials, or metal fabrication.

• Acumen in engineering approach to design for manufacturability, production performance assessments, and manufacturing flow optimizations

• Strong verbal and written communication/interpersonal skills.
Desired Skills:
• Interest in the aerospace industry

• Interest in electronics manufacturing or Composite materials

• Experience with material characterization techniques and process development.

• Experience creating and revising material and process specifications, reports, and test plans.

• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $20,904 - $61,672 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $24,024 - $67,288. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
