Our goal is to provide the fundamental tools needed to be successful in your career field, and to potentially prepare you for an opportunity to join Lockheed Martin full-time. Fields of focus will be diverse across the program and include functional and technical opportunities.
This internship position is for a Combat System Facility Design Engineer working in Moorestown, New Jersey. Candidate will gain exposure to the engineering design cycle, from concept development to integration and test.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, manufacturing and technical management and will be responsible for following the integration, design and technical solutions on high profile experimental products, including payload structures, thermal products and integration of materials and RF components.

Applicant should be able to interface effectively with multiple functional groups including: production, planning, engineering, quality, contracts/subcontracts, and other logistics and support personnel to achieve completion of depot operation activities. Should be capable of planning and arranging manpower, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating for all repairs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Understanding of Electrical or mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis
- Proficient with CAD modeling, drafting and release
- Demonstrated Mechanical design, drafting and modeling techniques
- Ability to solve heat transfer problems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project)
Desired Skills:
Experience being a team player to build consensus among peers and build effective relationships with multiple customers

- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage change, identify issues, and work with stakeholders to develop solutions
- Ability to inspire confidence and lead others to complete challenging systems related tasks.
- General knowledge of manufacturing processes including documentation, machining, welding, heat treatment, surface treatment and assembly
- Model Based Engineering experience (using CAD model as record of authority
- Knowledge of Metal Galvanic Compatibility

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
