Job Summary

Under the supervision of the DAS Engineering Manager, this position is responsible for Mechanical Engineering systems into Falcon aircraft. This individual reviews work scope, evaluates existing aircraft configuration data, and develops new data packages in support of mechanical alterations. Data development takes into consideration, the various technical requirements for installation, as well as the assessment of requirements to meet airworthiness standards as defined by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), EASA, ANAC, and others as required. This individual is responsible for evaluation of incoming aircraft configuration, development of engineering technical data in support of modifications, and liaison engineering support to Operations during aircraft input. Responsibilities extend to design, generation of documentation, release and maintenance of technical documentation.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design and integrate aircraft mechanical systems, as well as prepare build-to packages utilizing CATIA and AutoCAD
  • Develop, maintain and release mechanical drawings, system designs or engineering documentation and data by applying company standards
  • Provide engineering design disposition on discrepancies (i.e.: rejection tags, production action requests shop revision requests)
  • Lead the design, development and validation needs to achieve product definition and technical requirements
  • Document processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of mechanical commodities
  • Create mechanical detailed part drawings and installation of parts
  • Analyze functional and physical input to assure development of complete integrated design
  • Provide technical solutions
  • Determine and develop own approach to solutions
  • Liaison with product ion and other company departments
  • Provide technical support to explore and champion new electrical technologies
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or five years mechanical design in the aviation industry
  • Two years experience in specific technical discipline
  • Proficient in CATIA V5 (3D) and AutoCAD (2D)
  • Familiar with FAA and/or EASA regulations, procedures and requirements applicable to aircraft Avionics and systems
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with peers, internal customers as well as management
  • Interpersonal skills to be able to work successfully in a strong cross-functional team environment
  • Ability to use MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Falcon Jet or other business jet experience
  • Aircraft interior familiarity
  • Service center or MRO experience
  • Familiar with aircraft certification and STCs
  • Exposure to sheet metal bracket and mounting arrangement design
