Job Summary:

The Military Repair Group provides repair design, program management, tool development, source demonstration, and project engineering support for the full range of Pratt & Whitney military engines.

As a Military Repair Design Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, execution, and tracking Military Repair activities both domestically and internationally.  As a member of the ASE Military Engine Design Engineering team, you will work closely with a fully cross functional team, inclusive of design, structures, part family leads, tooling, and validation, to deliver repair capability to our military customers. In this role, you will also collaborate with the Program Management Office, the Military Repair Council, and Tinker repair development teams to create repair related technical documentation. Repair activity within the group spans the F135, F119, F100, F117 and TF33 programs and the Repair Design Engineer role has core responsibility for delivering repairs to the committed timeline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute assigned tasks to meet schedule requirements.

  • Research operating environments and functionality of components, interactions with mating parts; develop strategies which will return damaged parts back to service.

  • Create technical documents that provide engineering requirements for repairs

  • Research and review source processes for alignment to published technical data

  • Collaborate with other Repair Design Engineer (RDE) for repairs and engage with repair process audits as needed.

  • Interact with fully cross-functional teams to develop issue resolution strategy, that will meet quality standards and customer needs.

  • Lead or participate in weekly status level reviews to communicate issue status, next steps, risks to schedule, and potential corrective actions.

  • Prepare and present in customer repair status meetings, progress against plan and commitments.

  • Facilitate the development and qualification of repair tools

  • Create or revise Engineering Standard of Work (EKS) in accordance with latest process requirements, as required.

  • Participate in the prototyping of new repairs and tooling as needed

  • Collaborate with all vested parties to assure on time task delivery.

  • 10 Travel is Anticipated

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering

  • 5 years of related engineering experience OR a master’s degree and 3 years of related engineering experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Gas Turbine machinery and/or manufacturing experience

  • Demonstrated organization skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple complex tasks

  • Possess excellent judgment and professional maturity

  • Excellent Analytical skills
