Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking a Summer Intern in our Optical Components Center.

Candidates will be placed in a fast paced and exciting work environment where we develop advanced optical manufacturing techniques to support Lockheed Martins best-in-class products and solutions.

The intern will work alongside our manufacturing engineers to support our production operations and next generation systems. Work will include collaboration in a dynamic team environment, hands on testing, tooling design, data analysis and technical documentation.
Basic Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an accredited degree program pursuing a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering or related STEM field.

Must be a US Citizen to be able to gain facility access.
Desired Skills:
Preferred enrollment in Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.

Background in/experience with one or more of the following:

- Design of Experiments
- Metrology tools (interferometry, profilometry, CMM, etc.)
- CAD/CAM, GD&T, technical drawings
- Robotics and Automation
- Design, manufacturing, and metrology of thin film coatings
- Photolithography processes and metrology
- Data collection and analysis
- Programming and database management

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment

Proficient with Microsoft Office

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
