Job Description SummaryThe GE Aviation Power Conversion and Control business is leading the way in the application of advanced technologies towards the development and delivery of high-performance power conversion products for aerospace, military ground vehicles, and industrial hybrid vehicle applications utilizing advanced technologies such as SiC and GaN.

The Power Electronic Engineer is a high-impact and dynamic role. In this role, you will contribute to circuit level analog design and development of advanced power conversion products and be part of the power electronic design team where you will demonstrate talent and leadership designing and developing advanced power converters for military and/or commercial applications.

This role is open for either Pompano Beach, FL or Long Island (Bohemia), NY location

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
  • Document and communicate results of technical data generated
  • Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives
  • Share engineering information and promote open dialogue
  • Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an Engineering environment

Desired Characteristics

  • Design experience with high power/high density power conversion utilizing SiC and GaN devices for airborne and military ground vehicle applications
  • Experience with modeling using Pspice, PLECS, and Matlab/Simulink
  • Experience with schematic capture and layout tools
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills

 

The salary range for this position is 80,100 -133,500 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive plan.

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
