Raytheon’s Tactical Radars and Effectors team is looking for a Principal Hardware Engineer to support international Command and Control (C2) programs. In this role you will report directly to the Command-and-Control Hardware Engineering section and provide technical leadership as well as mechanical design and integration of COTS electronics and transportable shelters of C2 systems.
This accompanied role will be onsite in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for a long-term international assignment with additional compensation and additional year extensions.
- Available for business trips to Fullerton, CA.
- Available to travel to supplier and customer sites in Saudi Arabia.
What You Will Do
- Provide maintenance and assessment of fielded hardware at fixed and mobile sites, including transportable shelters/mobile units and electronic racks.
- Coordinate daily with teams in Saudi Arabia and the U.S. to discuss and prioritize tasking to maintain system operational status and approach for problem resolution.
- Work closely with Saudi Arabia Ministry of Defense (MOD) personnel utilizing C2 system.
- Work with local vendors to evaluate new and alternate parts for the program and support local procurement.
- Direct Level 4 maintenance and repair activities
- Indirectly lead and support maintenance teams onsite.
Employment is contingent upon meeting all medical requirements for overseas assignment including comprehensive post-offer medical examination.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) in Mechanical or Electrical engineering and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience.
- Experience with C2 system hardware design and requirements
- Experience installing and maintaining Mechanical / Electrical hardware into C2 systems including server rooms, command centers, and transportable shelters.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawing and electrical schematics when troubleshooting.
- Experience in management of obsolete components including review of product specifications and identification of replacement components.
- Experience in troubleshooting defective Line Replaceable Units and provide maintenance or repair dispositions.
- Experience using lab and test equipment such as a spectrum analyzer for troubleshooting Satellite Communication systems.
- Ability to communicate problems encountered and recommend various solutions to management.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience working at customer sites in the MENA region.
- Experience with configuration management systems to maintain configuration control and document changes.
- Experience working with IT systems
- Experience with logistics management systems and maintenance of COTS hardware.
- Experience with fiber optics interconnects and how to troubleshoot.
- Experience interacting with customers, users, and trainers of C2 systems.
- Experience resolving issues in a timely manner, including Integrating, configuring, updating hardware, software, and firmware.
- Experience collaborating with customers, users, trainers, and vendors and providing direction and oversight of projects.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
