Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time.  Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers.  Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. 

In this role, you will help ensure our missile defense products meet top quality standards while working in a supportive and collaborative environment. Youll partner with various teams to identify and resolve quality issues, driving improvements and maintaining compliance with industry regulations. As a Principal Technical Support Engineer at Raytheon you will play a key role in upholding our reputation for excellent product performance and reliability.

What You Will Do

  • Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks. Plans and executes experiments and gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes to support engineering disciplines. Produces drawings, reports and engineering documentation

  • Ensures manufacturing processes and product builds are followed and comply with Quality and Engineering requirements

  • Provides analysis and recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities and/or design problems for internally produced products & processes

  • Leads and drives alignment with fellow quality and manufacturing engineers, sustaining engineers, engineering management, operations, and shop floor personnel

  • Participates/implements continuous improvement for established processes for further improvement of quality, efficiency, and cost

  • Ensures that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives, and/or contracts

  • Work with team members, customers, suppliers and in a team environment

  • This is a 2nd Shift position and will be Onsite

  • International travel is minimal but required

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 (eight) years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 (five) years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 (twelve) years of relevant experience 

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Experience proposing changes to Depot hardware and software based upon obsolescence/upgrades/updates to equipment and procedures

  • Experience with updating and validating Depot operational procedures as well as developing new procedures as program needs and system changes require

  • Experience with providing training for Depot personnel on processes, procedures and equipment

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Ability to lead a team through multiple technical projects and customer requests in a fast-paced operations environment

  • Ability to read and interpret material and process specifications, technical drawings,  reports, manuals, and work instructions.

  • Experience with developing technical briefings and presenting to large audiences.

  • Experience working with and troubleshooting missile processing test equipment.

  • Experience in a quality assurance role involving inspection, test and auditing of facilities, processes and equipment.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
