Summary:
The Product Definition Drafter’s primary function is the creation and maintenance of engineering and manufacturing drawings (using SolidWorks) by working closely with design and manufacturing engineers to ensure conveyance of design intent. Other duties include the creation of tooling models and drawings to aid in the manufacturing process as well as the maintenance of engineering and manufacturing related documents.

Primary responsibilities:
• Creating parametric 3D models and assemblies to design intent and current practices using SolidWorks CAD software.
• Creating/changing engineering and manufacturing drawings (using SolidWorks CAD software) which includes the application of dimensioning techniques while considering manufacturability and design intent and drafting standards.
• Understand, apply and interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ASME Y14.5M-2009 standards.
• Apply dimensional stack-up techniques including ASME Y14.5 influences.
• Designing tooling to aid in the assembly, inspection and testing of production parts and creating drawings to have said tooling produced while considering manufacturability and design intent and drafting standards.
• Checking other drafters’ drawings for correctness and completeness and adherence to drafting standards.
• Route and signoff drafting tasks within Product Digital Management system.
• Creation and maintenance of engineering Bill of Materials (BOMs) in PLM system.
• Create and manage Document Info Records within ERP system (SAP)

Basic Qualifications:
• Typically requires AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with SolidWorks CAD software
• Experience with PLM PDM/PLM systems
• Experience with ASME Y14.5 Dimensioning and Tolerancing Standard
• Experience with manufacturing in an Aerospace environment is strongly preferred
• Experience with tool design & 3D modeling (SolidWorks preferred)
• Working knowledge of drafting principles & GD&T
• Working knowledge of ERP and MES systems (SAP preferred)
• Working knowledge of part joining processes (welding & brazing)
• Working knowledge of hydraulic systems
