As a Project Engineer II, youll assist in developing and implementing integrated plans for product development including coordinating activities throughout the product lifecycle from design concept phase to release. You will monitor the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with external customers or field-based employees on technical matters, as needed. Youll also review, manage, proactively challenge, and control status of project programs and budgets, manage schedules and prepare status reports, and guide and lead teams in achieving the goals of the program including issue identification, resolution and contingency planning.
The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and Develop ICD documents with customers directly to ensure SOP when given to Engineering for implementation.
- Coordinate and Communicate effectively timelines, requirements, and support activities.
- Coordinate and Communicate effectively with Engineering Service Manager (ESM) and Program Manager (PM) work products so they flow into development cycle in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and Communicate effectively with Systems Engineer (SE) for any documentation or ICD updates in a timely manner.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelors of Science degree in a related field of study
- Typically, 10+ years of progressive technical experience
- Thorough knowledge of engineering principles and practice
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development team
- Detailed understanding of requirements management, system design, integration
- Experience in software development and system integrations
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Typically 4-6 years of relevant leadership and/or project management experience
- Experience leading a multi-disciplinary design and development team and communicating with program management and customers
- Familiarity with preparation and development of project estimates, technical proposals, and program cost and schedule management
- Past history of leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of highly integrated trade studies and analysis of alternative
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, parts lists, specifications, instructions and test procedure
- Professional Certification in Program Management International (PMI) and/or Program Management Professional (PMP
- Experience or certification in INCOSE standard
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
