The Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) team is looking for a talented and dedicated engineer to join its team as an Eng II Project Engineer for the Advanced Military Engines Fan Module. The Project Engineer will be responsible for part-level ownership of Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) and will plan and execute assigned tasks to ensure the team achieves overall component goals. This role will include direct interfacing opportunities with engineering management, program management, suppliers and customers. The selected candidate will work with a diverse team of individuals to meet requirements and achieve goals. The Advanced Military Engine Program is in IPD Phase 3, Detailed Design and Initial Verification. The Project Engineer will be technically proficient, communicate effectively, and be customer-focused to meet the bold demands of this Military engine program. The engineer will have a tangible impact on product design and development, building a legacy of engineering excellence.
What You Will Do
- The Project Engineer will work within the Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) for part-level industrial planning and execution, including communication, risk management and execution to program requirements
- Coordinate timely creation/release of Technical Data Packages and Model-Based Product Definition
- Create, manage, and communicate the IPT industrial plan as well as coordinate part-level sourcing activities with CIPT, Procurement, Industrial, and Manufacturing team members.
- Working with part producers and suppliers, in collaboration with Module Center and Global Supply Chain, to address all producibility issues in a timely manner and ensure that hardware is delivered per schedule requirements as well as resolve engineering challenges that occur during manufacturing
- Apply Project Engineering skills: detailed task planning and tracking, budget management and ownership, earned value management (EVMS) - with a focused on Industrial Management. Also, exposure to various project management frameworks including Agile, Kanban, and Waterfall planning and execution
- Opportunities to travel up to 10 to visit suppliers and coordinate manufacturing across the United States.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or in a related field and 2+ years prior relevant engineering experience OR
- Advanced Degree in Engineering or in a related field.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

- Understanding of manufacturing processes, aerospace design methods and procedures, and continuous improvement tools.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple activities.
- Demonstrated success in multi-functional teams.
- Focus on results with the ability to drive projects to successful completion.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Ability to craft clear communication and develop meaningful relationships
- Understanding of continuous improvement principles (e.g. Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE), P&W Leadership Operating Model (LOM), Proficiency in use of program/project management tools (e.g. Systems Applications and Products (SAP), Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Teamcenter).
- Experience with compressor component design/development.

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)
Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.
Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Depending on business needs, the engineer may be eligible for either a 5day/40hr week or a 9day/80hr biweekly schedule
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
