Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Summer 2024 Intern in Quality Engineering. In this role, you will support the Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) Quality engineering team in Valley Forge, PA The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Must be a US Citizen; this position will require the ability to obtain a government security clearance.
The Quality Engineer intern will report to the Fleet Ballistic Missiles FBM Engineering Manager. Responsibility will include FBM Reentry Quality Engineering support, and includes but is not limited to: Collaborating with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devising and implementing methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of Quality and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Actively enrolled in a Bachelors degree program in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering major or related from an accredited college or university
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control principles, and proficiency in using tools such as Microsoft Excel.
- Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

- Proficient in root cause analysis and corrective action
- Familiarity with quality management systems

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
