Description:Calling all College Students! Come join Lockheed Martin, Missiles Fire and Control in Ocala, Florida for a Summer Quality Internship. Ocala is a beautiful town located between Gainesville and Orlando.

Ocala is part of Marion County, it has a population of around 65,000 residents, and it is a small city in the middle of Florida, but only two hours to the each side of the Florida coast. Ocala is rated in the top 10 places to live in Florida and one of the 10 safest places to live. The city of Ocala is also the home to over 400 thoroughbred horse farms, training centers and the World Equestrian Center.
Ocala and Marion County are known as the Horse Capital of the World. The horse farms are situated in attractive rolling green pastures. The area also features numerous rivers, springs and lakes which provide the perfect environment for many outdoor activities.
The Ocala Operations is a multi-shift manufacturing facility that builds circuit cards, wiring harnesses, and electro-mechanical assemblies. The facility currently has over 1300 employees and provides products to six Missiles and Fire Control sites. Ocala specializes in both low volume high mix and high volume production that has a combination of automated processes as well as labor intensive manufacturing. Ocala Operations has a represented manufacturing workforce that is supported by a strong engineering and operations support team.

Candidate must be pursuing a 4 year engineering degree from an accredited college or university.
Must have good communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
Investigate root cause of failures/defects and implement corrective action to support continuous improvement.

This position will be located at a facility that requires special access and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.
Basic Qualifications:
Actively enrolled in a Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering or other related degree program from an accredited college/university.

The candidate must be a US citizen.
Desired Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Experience or classroom knowledge of implementing process improvements, conducting root cause analysis, performing engineering design changes into manufacturing documentation.

Performed assignments in technical/engineering
organizations (e.g., Electronics Engineering,
Software Engineering, Facilities Engineering,
Manufacturing Engineering) during vacations and
short-term breaks from college attendance while
enrolled in an accredited degree program.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
