Honeywells ACST team is seeking a R&D Materials Scientist/Engineer for our Golden Valley, MN location. 

  • Citizenship Required: United States Citizenship
  • Clearance Required: Yes; you must either currently have or be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government security clearance

YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE:

  • Conduct research and development activities in the field of materials science
  • Design and conduct experiments investigating key material properties and performance in processes / applications such as welding, brazing, soldering, plating, joinery, interfaces, metal additive manufacturing.
  • Analyze data and present findings to internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive technology advancements
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies

US CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as material science, engineering, physics, chemistry, are related field
  • Minimum 2 years combined experience in one or more of the following: metallurgical science, welding or brazing applications, additive manufacturing, surface characterization or modification
  • Strong background in materials characterization techniques and analysis
  • U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain a security clearance

WE VALUE:

We value candidates who may have one or more of the following skills:

  • Advanced or specialized degree in Materials Science, Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or similar
  • Understanding of experimental design and principles of failure analysis
  • Experience with materials surface or interface analysis
  • Knowledge of advanced materials characterization methods
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral), organizational skills and analytical skills
