Electric Propulsion Engineer – Satellite
Location: Stevenage Site (Typically 3 days a week in the office, 2 days remote)
SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check)

An exciting ramp up is underway and we have a vacancy within our large transnational propulsion team. The roles main responsibility is to establish Airbus vehicle overall performance in both the regulatory and operational frameworks, during the feasibility phase, development, build, test and operational service.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM
- Generate propulsion system specifications and perform propulsion design, performance and analysis for electric propulsion systems.
- Support spacecraft proposal preparation.
- Prepare spacecraft system test plans, test requirement preparation, verification analysis including FMECA, design verification matrices and assessing test results.
- Be the author and owner of propulsion system technical specifications (electro-mechanical components, electric thrusters, pressure vessels, design, verification and manufacturing interfaces).
- Delivering presentations at major project design reviews, R&D activities and future studies/ proposals support.
- Review proposals from suppliers and negotiate contracts.
- Comply with international safety regulations.
ABOUT YOU
- Space industry experience would be great, however again we are open to reviewing those outside of the aerospace arena including automotive, medical and defence
- Experience in any of these fields is beneficial: plasma physics, 10-20 kW power supplies, electromagnetic compatibility, fluidic control components and regulators
