Boeing Brazil Engineering is seeking an Senior Air Conditioning System Engineer to join our team in São José dos Campos, Brazil office.
 

The Senior Air Conditioning System Engineer could work on one or many of its sub systems, with technologies involving pneumatic, air conditioning, ventilation, filtration, smoke control, pressurization, system controller, ice, rain, humidity, gas generation, equipment and ducts for example.

Supports the development and documentation on one or many of the ECS technologies, such as pneumatic, air conditioning, ventilation, filtration, smoke control, pressurization, system controller, ice & rain protection, humidity, gas treatment & generation, equipment, system software, system electronic hardware, sensors, ducts and mechanical hardware. Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups.

Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Contributes to supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals. Supports system components designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation. Trains and mentor others. Works independently with minimum supervision. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.

 Position Responsibilities:

  • Understands how to accomplish tasks through formal channels and informal network; understands the cultures of organizations. Applies this information in a way that contributes to the organizations strategic plan and bottom line.
  • Works closely with Boeing Commercial Airplane (BCA) to provide engineering work related to ECS Air Conditioning System of new developments and airplanes in service.
  • Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify that aircraft, sub-systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Develops ECS Air Conditioning solutions and provides integration with other areas (other ECS sub-systems, interfacing Systems, Structure, Aerodynamics, Safety Integration, etc).
  • Supports projects to meet product quality and performance improvements.
  • Supports artifacts for new or revised designs aiming at showing compliance with Airworthiness and Operational Regulations.
  • Supports the development and documentation of mechanical, fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design.
  • Liaising supplier development, test and production activities, aiming at optimizing integration and meet program goals.
  • Supports troubleshooting, testing, modeling and maintenance issues in the assembly line and customers.
  • Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must have existing rights to work in Brazil
  • Must have Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other higher technical education for qualification related to the development, manufacturing or operation of Environmental Control Systems.
  • Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia – CREA)
  • Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language
  • Engineering work experience desirably with Air Conditioning Systems

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • Demonstrated experience in traditional engineering analytical methods and Aerospace/Industry Standards (SAE ARP 4754A, SAE ARP 4761, RTCA DO-160, RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-331, etc).
  • Demonstrated experience in requirement management tools (DOORS or similar).
  • Performs tradeoffs and complete general architecture/layouts of engineering design. Skills to make steady-state and transient analyses.
  • Experience in system analysis tools (Flomaster, Amesym, etc), CAD tools (such as, CATIA or 3DX), Computational Fluid Dynamics tools (such as Ansys Fluent, CFX, CFD++, etc.).
  • Experience in traditional engineering analytical methods and Aerospace/Industry Standards (SAE ARP 4754A, SAE ARP 4761, RTCA DO-160, RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-331, etc).
  • Full understanding of principles and vision of immediate work and common understanding of work of the neighboring teams or disciplines. Widely uses Aircrafts design principles, documentation standards and processes for the development of smaller components or parts of major systems.
  • Makes proposals on modification of existing designs for optimization or improvement of production processes. Collects information, studies materials, makes mark-ups, used by others for execution of final documentation.
  • Manages processes, methods, technologies and projects.
  • Experience in Model Based design.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Brazil. Candidates must have current legal authorization to live and work in Brazil. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
