We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team and focus on the engineering associated with the Air Force E-9A Widget aircraft. DUTIES

  • Interface with the government customer to understand project requirements and provide technical expertise on the Air Force E-9A Widget aircraft.
  • Troubleshoot avionics systems, including VHF/HF radios, ADS-B, RF antennas, LNAs, LNBs, x-band radar, TACAN, ground telemetry systems, and airborne telemetry systems.
  • Utilize test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, SDRs, and data recorders, to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Develop aircraft systems and subsystems electrical designs (wiring diagrams, electrical installation drawings, harness fabrication drawings, etc.)
  • Lead integration design efforts for avionics upgrades, ensuring seamless integration of new systems with existing components.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Air Force E-9A Widget aircraft, providing guidance and support to the engineering team.
  • Perform and write engineering analyses and reports as required to obtain airworthiness certifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in avionics engineering, preferably with exposure to aircraft like the Air Force E-9A Widget is a plus.
  • Familiarity with a variety avionics systems will be highly valued.
  • Experience troubleshooting VHF/HF radios, ADS-B, RF antennas, LNAs, LNBs, x-band radar, TACAN, ground telemetry systems, and airborne telemetry systems is considered a significant advantage.
  • Proficiency in using test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, SDRs, and data recorders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to address engineering challenges in a systematic and efficient manner.
  • We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.
  • Strong communication skills to interface with the government customer and present engineering issues to the Project Manager (PM) and other stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with telemetry standards, including IRIG-106, will be considered a plus.
  • Ability to lead integration design efforts for avionics upgrades, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
  • Familiarity with DoD and FAA airworthiness certification requirements is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of DoD and commercial aircraft electrical design requirements such as SAE AS50881 Aerospace Vehicle Wiring Requirements is a plus.
  • Experience with computer aided design software such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, CATIA, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, working at heights with fall protection devices.
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • May be required to lift up to 25 pounds and carry for short distances.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • Normally works in an office setting with controlled temperature
