Boeing Global Services (BGS) Maintenance Training team is seeking an Instructional Systems Designer to join our established and growing team. You’ll help us advance the design and development of customer-facing maintenance training programs and courseware, and will be focused on enhancing safe and efficient maintenance of Boeing commercial airplanes around the world. The successful candidate will be able to collaborate cross-functionally with diverse skillsets and stakeholders to understand, interpret, and act upon the needs of learners. The ability to navigate a diverse field of technical and operational complexity to accomplish objectives is key to success in this position.
Position Responsibilities:
Engages in discovery; problem identification, definition, and analysis to frame customer needs in terms of training solutions
Develops and conducts interviews, surveys and stakeholder analysis. Uses proven methods to explore response in-depth and uncover themes
Defines and employs solid research methodologies to understand the aviation maintenance ecosystem at the global and local levels
Conducts learner segmentation and analysis to identify specific needs and optimize the path to competency for groups of learners
Identifies and defines actors and roles within the maintenance ecosystem. Performs job role analysis and task analysis
Partners with diverse subject matter experts to oversee/contribute to the creation of training courseware throughout all stages of the ADDIE process, as appropriate
Develops learning, instructional, and assessment strategies optimal to the learning situation
Develops learning objectives, curricula, syllabi, and lesson plans as required
Conducts cost / benefit and alternative training analysis, within the existing portfolio, to determine the appropriate training aids and devices for a given situation
Designs instructional content for multiple learning environments including: virtual/digital learning, traditional instructor-led learning, and blended learning/flipped classroom learning
Plans and conducts courseware validation with stakeholders
Evaluate the outcomes of training solutions; gathers and processes feedback to measure and improve the efficacy of training programs and courseware
Understands and operates within the parameters of multiple, complex regulatory environments
Self-manages work statement and collaborates with project managers in an Agile environment
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Experience with project management and self- managing projects
Experience developing with tools such as Articulate Storyline and Camtasia
Experience with global-scale research projects and initiatives
Experience with S6000T data architecture and process
Experience working within complex regulatory environments
Experience within the aviation maintenance, engineering, or other complex technical fields
Knowledge of Agile principles and experience operating in an Agile production environment
Typical Education/ Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years related work experience, Master+7 years related work experience, 13 years related work experience, etc.)

Summary pay range: $107,950 - $146,050
