Boeing Brazil is seeking Senior Integrated Modular Avionics Engineer reporting directly to the Airplane Systems Electrical Engineering Manager of the Sao Jose Dos Campos, Brazil branch.

The Senior Integrated Modular Avionics Engineer will join the team in defining and integrating airplane electronic & electrical systems across our commercial fleet. All projects center on the translation of concepts and high-level requirements to specific architectures and operational specifications.  Work with a worldwide supplier base to implement system hardware and software. Validate designs through both laboratory and airplane testing. Work with aircraft systems from initial concept through certification, delivery, and through their production life. We are continually evolving the state of the art in commercial air transport.  This position will be assigned to work with Electronic and Cabin Systems.  

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.

  • Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.

  • Leads work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.

  • Oversees the team that monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

  • Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

  • Researches technology advances for potential application to company business needs. Makes recommendations for technology investments.

This position is hybrid / Telecommuting. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • Must have existing rights to work in Brazil

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer engineering or Aerospace/Aeronautical engineering

  • Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language

  • Must be registered or eligible to register with the engineering and agronomy and regional council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA

Preferred Qualification (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • Experience as a system engineer throughout the systems development process, including requirements capture, design, decomposition, integration, verification, and validation

  • Experience with airplane standards like ARP 4754, ARP 4761 and DO-297

  • Experience with audits and design review activities

  • In-depth with Product Development life cycle and applicable regulations

  • In-depth experience with commercial airplane certification and procedures

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Additional Information:

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Brazil. Candidates must have current legal authorization to work in Brazil. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
