How youll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) We are seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer with expertise in Sumo Logic Log Analytics or similar tools like Splunk, Elastic Stack (ELK), Grafana, AWS CloudWatch or Dynatrace. The ideal candidate will lead the configuration, optimization, and utilization of log analytics products across both on-premises and cloud environments (AWS: EC2, Lambda, ROSA/Containers). This role involves mentoring junior team members, collaborating with key stakeholders such as SRE, FinOps, and CCOE teams, and ensuring solutions align with organizational strategies for log-based analytics and cost efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Configure, implement, maintain, and support log analytics products like Sumo Logic, ELK, or Splunk in large-scale environments.Develop dashboards, alerts, charts, and reports tailored to application and system requirements.Conduct requirements gathering, cost-benefit analysis, and implement innovative log analytics solutions for application teams.Manage licenses effectively, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with FinOps guidelines.Act as a consultant to assess trade-offs between cloud-native log analytics and third-party solutions.Lead evaluations of alternative log analytics products in the spanet and recommend strategies such as Hold or Migrate based on organizational goals.Collaborate with SRE, FinOps, and CCOE teams to establish long-term plans for log analytics infrastructure.Perform trend analysis on system events and recommend improvements to reduce noise and enhance system stability.Integrate log analytics with third-party tools like Pager Duty and use APIs for automation and advanced configurations.Provide mentorship and training to junior log analytics team members.Participate in on-call rotations to support analytics tool issues.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) 5+ years of experience in data analytics management, with a focus on Sumo Logic or similar tools.3+ years of hands-on experience managing tool allocations, monitoring usage, and providing system support.Proficiency in AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, Kubernetes, ROSA).Experience with scripting and automation tools like Ansible, Python, and GitLab.Strong ability to create field extractions using Regex and develop visualizations such as dashboards and charts.Broad knowledge of software development principles and preferred experience with Java, Python technologies.Excellent analytical skills, capable of creating scalable processes and methodologies in an Agile environment.Sumo Logic certification is preferred.Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data. Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles. Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
