Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Software Engineer - Infrastructure Automation to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals onsite in San Diego, California, where we define possible.  

Join our team to work in an embedded technology environment to develop software working with real time operating systems for use in flight and mission critical systems.   We build complex aircraft systems using the latest technologies including simulation, cloud computing, DevSecOps, and cyber that can rapidly evolve to deliver enhanced capabilities for fielded systems, modernizing in partnership with our customers to meet their most complex missions. Accomplish

In this role you will be working with the latest technology to modernize software infrastructure production.

Essential Functions:

  • Automate deployment of Infrastructure Software (VMWare, Kubernetes, etc)
  • Integrate and automate systems to facilitate continuous build, continuous integration, continuous test, and continuous deployment pipeline
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills is required to create/update technical documentation and flow up status/blockers

The individual we seek will be self-motivated, proactive, goal-oriented to help us grow our services, become even better at what we do and will possess the following qualifications.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 2 years of related experience, or 0 years of experience with a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline
  • 2+ years of experience with YAML and/or Python
  • 2+ years of experience with Ansible
  • 1+ years of experience with Virtualization technology
  • 1+ years of experience with a continuous integration environment (i.e., GitLab, Jenkins, Bamboo)
  • 1+ years of experience using the Agile methodology and tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Active Top Secret clearance and must be able to obtain and maintain program access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current SAP access
  • 2+ years of experience with any of these VMware products: Cloud Foundation, vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, NSX
  • 1+ years of experience with VMware Aria
  • 2+ years of experience as a Linux and/or Windows System Administrator
  • 1+ years of experience with NetApp Storage Solution
  • Experience automating software builds and releases via Nexus
  • Experience with containers and container orchestration using Kubernetes

Salary Range: $87,200 - $130,800
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
