Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is currently looking for a proactive and self-motivated Software Engineer. Working within the Joint Systems Capability, you will be part of the team that enhance and sustain operational software on the Wakulda Air Battle Management System.This role is located in our Brisbane CBD office.

About You:

  • Self-starter, ability to take ownership of projects including software implementations and product reviews
  • Ability to utilize engineering problem solving skills
  • Ability to remediate/resolve issues in high pressure situations
  • Enjoy being part of a high performing team
  • Ability to present ideas to large forums
  • Strong attention to detail when following documentation and always striving for first time quality
  • Ability to follow an engineering lifecycle
  • Ability to travel interstate as necessary

Technical Skills include the following

  • Proficiency in automated build software tools
  • Proficiency in Powershell Automation
  • Linux and Windows System administration skills
  • Proficiency in virtual environments
  • Experience in Dev-ops environments
  • Familiarity of software infrastructure tools and industry best practices

Working in the role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Enhance or establish software development environments to improve the build and deployment process and troubleshoot issues.
  • Ensure systems and processes meet security, business and customer needs.
  • Work as part of a team contributing to security planning and implementation in the software development environment and production systems.

Wed love if you have an interest or prior experience in the IT industry where you gained system admin skills and have worked with software development and configuration management tools.

Youll be supporting an environment that has security considerations and is both Windows and Linux based, so virtualisation and networking knowledge is a big bonus.

The ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse team, in a conscientious and inclusive way and a proactive approach to problem solving is valued by our team.
