As a United Airlines Senior AWS DevOps Architect, you will bring your exceptional cloud engineering experience to our team to drive security, reliability and maintainbility of our AWS cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, build, and manage cloud Infrastructure components by leveraging Infrastructure as code
• Demonstrate an innovative mentality by staying aware of new developments within the technology space and identifying which new technologies to adapt to provide value to our business
• Identify, evaluate, and learn new technologies for implementation
• Design, implement, and manage cloud-related security controls that support our cybersecurity programs
• Build and operate tools for monitoring performance and security
• Deploy and configure cloud services according to best practice (e.g.: EC2, VPC, RDS, IAM, CloudFront, Route53, CloudWatch, KMS, Redshift, S3 and Glacier, Kinesis)
• Identify opportunities to automate and/or bring efficiency to technical processes
• Identify system or performance issues, and develop resolutions
• Participate in troubleshooting of infrastructure and/or application-related issues.
• Produce lean and well-written technical project documentation and operational runbooks
• Take ownership of issues and act with a high sense of urgency when required
• Participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment, security, cost-effectiveness, and high availability in the cloud.
• Ensure all infrastructure components meet proper performance and security standards.
• Develop and implement internal systems, processes, and best practices to be used by other teams designed to increase productivity

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded. This position is for United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd - a wholly owned subsidiary of United Airlines Inc.

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, other related field, or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience with foundational AWS Services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, CloudTrail, CloudFront, Lambda, EKS, ECS, etc.)
• Understanding of serverless technologies, services, and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
• Prior knowledge working on serverless technologies, services, and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
• 5+ years of experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, or other IaC solutions (minimum 4 years with Terraform)
• Ability to write scripts in JavaScript, Bash, Python, Typescript, or similar languages
• Previous experience with Docker and container orchestration
• Strong DevOps background (culture, process, and tooling aspects)
• Ability to build code pipelines and support deployment activities
• Able to work independently and as a team to architect and implement new solutions and technologies
• Good written and verbal communication skills; the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and management, capable of successful formal and informal communication, speaks and writes clearly and understandably at the right level
• Identify evaluate and learn new technologies for implementation
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

Preferred

• AWS Solutions Architect - Professional or AWS DevOps
• Expertise in the design and implementation of complex IT solutions
• DevSecOps experience implementing solutions to mitigate or prevent security vulnerabilities
• Experience with Harness experience creating CICD Pipeline or Templates
• Awareness of IT best practices and research
• The ability to accept and promote diversity in concepts, processes, and outcomes to implement effective business solutions
• Hands-on experience writing and deploying AWS Lambda functions
• Familiarity with the Travel Industry
