Job Description

The Advanced Technologies Department Operations Manager will manage the global operations process and projects by creating and maintaining the organizations robust operating rhythm. This is to drive the department goals and objectives, and to ensure effective measurement of both strategic and tactical initiatives leveraging Lean methodologies and mindsets. You will lead the execution of sustainable/scale-able process improvements across functions. High levels of operational judgment and business knowledge are required to achieve outcomes required.

In this role you will also partner with our next generation propulsion demonstrator leadership teams and with our sciences organizations to drive execution of our technology demonstrators and to drive support of our existing NPI programs and of our in-service fleet.  

This role requires effective collaboration and leadership across the GE Aerospace enterprise and requires a proven history of building strong horizontal connections and comfort with interfacing with all levels of leadership.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the department manager in leading the organization and operating rhythms to deliver our commitments
  • Drive a Safety culture within the organization
  • Drive a LEAN and continuous process improvement culture within the organization (aligned to KPIs)
  • Partner with leadership to develop and drive execution of the department operating plan to support the overall business strategy
  • Create robust processes and measurements to drive operational plans to meet program commitments and the department financial goals
  • Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems
  • Define roles and responsibilities for assigned personnel
  • Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback, coaching and counseling
  • Participate in key business operating rhythms
  • Partner with leadership to develop and drive execution of the organization operating plan to support the overall business strategy 
  • Solves issues and develop new solutions using innovative approaches, has the authority to guide others in different approaches

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership position
