Northrop Grumman Aeronautics System Sector is looking for a NATO on Site Sr Staff Mission Engineer to join our diverse team.   This position reports to the NATO Chief Engineer in Rancho Bernardo. This position is located in Sigonella, Italy and is a 2-year overseas assignment.

Essential Functions:

The NATO on Site Mission Engineer supports the identification and resolution of anomalies through interfacing with NAGSF squadron staff and Forward Support Representatives and coordinating for reach back support to factory responsible design engineers to determine root cause and corrective actions.

Additionally, the on site ME responds to user questions related to the system and monitors system performance.

ME will analyze operational data for effectiveness and recommend improvements to stakeholders and engineering.

On Site ME also supports system trade studies and requirements definition for new capabilities and supports field implementation of new capabilities.

A comprehensive overseas compensation package, including relocation assistance, is provided.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have minimum of 14 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors in STEM degree; 12 Years with Masters in STEM; or 9 Years with PhD in STEM
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Eligible for NATO program access
  • Experience working NATO AGS program
  • Direct Systems Engineering experience
  • Candidate must be willing to live overseas for a minimum of a two-year assignment
  • Ability to effectively interface with NATO AGS Commanding Officer and General staff across the squadron
  • Ability to occasionally travel to US for training and engineering coordination of new and existing capabilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Holds a current NATO TS Security Clearance and has directly supported integration or field operations of the NATO AGS System
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Flexibility to evolving program environments
  • Candidate must be mature and have the ability to effectively interface with NATO AGS Commanding Officer and General staff across the squadron
  • Problem-solving experience in a dynamic team environment
  • Experience in AVCM2, network/comms, Radar Payload, or Air Vehicle
Salary Range: $166,500 - $249,700
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
